The First Peoples Principles of Learning are a set of teaching philosophies that should be incorporated into our teaching practices. I think its important to reflect on my teaching practices to ensure I am using these principles. The principles bring a holistic approach to education. They also remind us of the importance of indigenous pedagogy in our teaching practices. They remind of concepts such as allowing for patience when learning and the role of different generations within learning. These principles also help us not only give credence to those who have lived on these lands for time immemorial, it also can help us teach some our Indigenous students more effectively.
